Gas cars have been around for over a century. Is it really worth switching to electric cars now?

Actually, electric cars have been around since the 1800s and have been continually improving. They're not going away anytime soon.
I think gas cars sound better and are more powerful. Ain't no electric car gonna give me that power.
But have you heard of electric sports cars like the Tesla Roadster? That thing goes from 0 to 60 in 1.9 seconds!
