Tesla owners were offered exclusive use of the Supercharger network.
Apparently, however, this is not the case.
The difference between North American and European turbochargers is the connection. On this side of the lake, we are familiar with the Tesla base connector, while Europe uses the combined 2/CCS connector. Almost all electric vehicles (EVs) in this region are equipped with a CCS connector.
This means that EV owners can technically connect to the reloader, but nothing happens because there is no "handshake" between the charger and the car to authorize the session (to know who you are and how you are charging).
According to several European videos and social media mentions, the latest V3 overloader lacks this basic handshake, allowing electric cars to plug in and charge for free.
Another major problem is the high cost of using the overloader. It's all free. They cannot "process" cars, so there is no way to charge the owner for the electricity they use. Also, EV adoption in Europe is much higher than in the U.S., which may exclude Tesla owners from other EV owners using transloaders.
It seems that this omission on Tesla's part is huge, so it would not be surprising if Tesla corrects this as soon as possible.
