What is the future of electric vehicles?

30 Jan 2023 10 mins to read
Can you imagine what the future of electric vehicles (EV) could be like? While it's hard to predict how many people will switch to electric vehicles in the coming years, there are some important statistics that point to a promising future for electric vehicles and electric vehicle drivers.
What is the future of electric vehicles?
Summary:If current EV trends bear witness to this, there are many notable developments to come in the coming years.

Here are some trends to look out for in the future of electric vehicles

More places to charge your car

One of the main reasons why people are hesitant to switch from petrol cars to electric cars is that many novice drivers are worried about driving range. Range concerns the fear that an electric car will run out of power before reaching its destination - is a major concern for most consumers.

According to a survey conducted by Volvo and Harris Polling, 76% of drivers surveyed believe that electric vehicles are the future of driving. However, 61% of those same respondents would be more likely to purchase an electric car if there were more charging stations in the city. Luckily for them, this wish may soon come true.

Earlier last year, President Joe Biden announced a plan to create American jobs, which includes provisions to build a national network of 500,000 charging stations with a $15 billion special investment. This version will increase the frequency of electric vehicle charging stations on the roads and reduce the likelihood that someone will worry about driving distance.

In addition to making infrastructure more EV-friendly, other future technological advances could ease driver concerns about autonomy.

Over time, and as electric vehicle technology advances, batteries will grow in size, allowing cars to move forward.

Good thing most electric cars have warranties and there are government incentives available for purchasing them.
I'm just excited to see a more sustainable future.
How long do electric car batteries usually last before they need to be replaced?
I hear ya, but there are more charging stations popping up all the time.

One downside is the limited range compared to gas-powered cars, but that's improving over time.
Same here! It's great to see advances in technology that benefit both us and the planet.
Yeah, I saw an article that said they hold their value pretty well.
Idk man, I'm still skeptical. How are we gonna charge all these cars without overloading the grid?
I wonder what the resale value of electric cars will be in a few years. Anyone know?
I'm excited to see where this all goes. Electric cars are so much better for the environment!
It's possible, but it'll take some time.
That's true, but I bet as more people start buying them, the cost will go down.
Yeah, but what about the cost? They're still pretty expensive.
I don't care how sexy it is, I still need to be able to go on road trips without worrying about where to charge it.
It depends on the make and model, but generally around 8-10 years or 100,000 miles.
