Why invest in EV charging stations?

22 Feb 2023 10 mins to read
Why invest in EV charging stations? Growing concern about climate change has changed the dynamics of many industries. Companies are abandoning single-use plastics and adapting their supply chains to reduce water and fuel consumption.
Why invest in EV charging stations?
Summary:

In the auto industry, electric cars are slowly and steadily replacing natural gas vehicles and internal combustion engines (ICE). According to a Bloomberg report, electric vehicles will account for the majority (54%) of new car sales worldwide by 2040. In fact, there are already more than one million electric vehicles in the U.S. today.

Adoption of electric vehicles is growing due to environmental awareness, the low cost of charging (equivalent to paying 1 per gallon for gasoline) and the easy availability of some of the best commercial EV charging stations in the country. In response to this high growth, businesses are installing commercial electric vehicle charging stations to serve their tenants and employees. Here are three reasons commercial businesses are installing electric vehicle charging stations in their parking lots

Increasing the attractiveness of the business.

Increasing the attractiveness of the business.

Installing EV charging stations on a business' premises increases its appeal to customers. Let it be known that you care about the environment by reducing your property's carbon footprint and supporting drivers who strive for a gasoline-free lifestyle. Since the home is the most popular place to charge electric cars, followed by the workplace, electric car drivers are looking for apartments and workplaces with charging stations. Compared to competitors, having electric vehicle charging stations onsite differentiates you and allows you to win new business.

Pay for Parking.

 Pay for Parking.

Networked commercial EV charging stations can be located in any area where cars are parked for more than one hour. If you run a people's parking lot or already offer paid parking, you can attract drivers to pay for their electric cars at the charging station. If you are a retailer or restaurant, you can attract new customers who will spend more time shopping or eating while their cars are charging!

New legislation.

 New legislation.

Many states have already passed laws to support electric vehicle requirements. In some cities, new construction must build "off-the-shelf" infrastructure or design a certain percentage of parking spaces to include charging stations. Across the country, workers and apartment buildings can receive funding to equip and install charging stations for electric vehicles, thanks to rebates and incentives from local governments and utilities. You can support your city's and country's goals and at the same time become a green car owner through marketing benefits!

Whether you're looking for that future amenity that will set you apart from others, or simply want to meet local requirements, now is the time to invest in electric vehicles in your area.

I'm all about sustainability and investing in EV charging stations is the way to go.
My neighbor just got a Tesla and now I want one too!
It definitely could! The installation, maintenance, and operation of charging stations all require skilled workers.
Could investing in EV charging stations create jobs?
Good point! That's why many charging stations are powered by solar panels and other renewable energy sources.
EVs are so expensive, though. Who can even afford to buy them?
Ain't nobody got time to sit and wait for their electric cars to charge.
It's always good to do your research first! But investing in EV charging stations can have a big return on investment.
Investing in EV charging stations seems like a no-brainer for businesses. Not only is it good for the environment, but it also attracts customers who drive electric cars.
I don't know anything about investing, but this seems like a no-brainer.

While government regulations may incentivize the shift to electric cars, investing in charging stations now prepares us for the eventual transition. Plus, investing early means a larger return on investment in the future.

While some EV models may have a higher upfront cost, the long-term savings on maintenance and fuel make them worth it. Plus, as more manufacturing companies produce EVs, the prices will continue to decrease.
I'm worried about the cost. Is it really worth investing in EV charging stations?
I'm all for investing in renewable energy, but what's the point of EVs if the energy used to charge them isn't green?

Not if they're installed and maintained properly! The charging stations are designed to prevent any potential hazards.
